01 · About the Fund

Real capital. Real research. A real advisor checking our work.

Our mission, our vision, and the values every member commits to.

NEW Investment Partners started as a conversation between a few students who were tired of only talking about investing in the abstract: reading about markets in textbooks, watching other people make decisions, and never actually putting a thesis to the test.

We wanted a place where an idea had to survive real scrutiny before a single dollar moved: written up, defended in front of peers, challenged by an advisor who's seen more cycles than any of us, and only then acted on. So we built one. What began as a small group pooling capital and conviction has grown into a standing organization with a defined process, a governance structure, and a code of ethics we hold each other to.

We're not chasing headlines or hot tips. We're building the habits of patient, fundamentals-driven investing that outlast any single trade.

Mission

To develop world-class investors through rigorous fundamental research and disciplined capital allocation.

Vision

To become the premier student-led investment organization in Wisconsin, developing future leaders in finance through rigorous research, ethical decision-making, and disciplined capital allocation.

“Research with discipline. Invest with conviction.”

Our Motto
01

Integrity

Honest work, honestly presented, every time.

02

Intellectual Curiosity

We chase the “why,” not just the answer.

03

Independent Thinking

Conviction earned through our own work.

04

Accountability

We own our calls, the good and the bad.

05

Professionalism

We represent the fund like it's already real. It is.

06

Continuous Improvement

Every review is a chance to get sharper.

07

Long-Term Perspective

We underwrite businesses, not quarters.

08

Respectful Debate

We argue the idea, never the person.

02 · Our Approach

What we look for, and how an idea becomes a position.

Philosophy first. Process second. Discipline throughout.

Investment Philosophy

Durable Competitive Advantages

Businesses with a moat that protects returns over time.

Excellent Management

Leadership that allocates capital like owners.

Strong Free Cash Flow

Cash generation we can actually underwrite.

High Return on Invested Capital

Evidence the business compounds value efficiently.

Healthy Balance Sheets

Conservative leverage that survives a downturn.

Long-Term Growth Opportunities

A runway measured in years, not quarters.

Attractive Valuation

Price at a reasonable discount to intrinsic value.

Research Process

01

Idea Generation

Members surface candidates from screens, industry reading, and everyday observation.

02

Initial Screening

A quick pass against our philosophy to decide if deeper work is warranted.

03

Research Report

Full write-up: business quality, financials, valuation, and risks.

04

Pitch to Committee

Presented to the Investment Committee for questions and challenge.

05

Vote

Members vote independently, informed by the pitch and debate.

06

Decision

Buy, sell, hold, or reject, carried out and logged.

07

Every position is revisited monthly to validate or correct the original thesis. A thesis can expire even when the price hasn't moved.
